Regressive Meditation

A few years ago, I learned a meditation technique that promised to heal trauma and change the outcome of past events.  I have performed this meditation several times in my life and have been amazed at the results I’ve been able to attain.  I’ve seen distressed relationships magically mend, and new strength arise in areas of weakness.

This technique is a form of regressive meditation that works on a quantum level.  It can be used for any situation in your past that you wish you could change, whether that be something you wish you had done differently, or an area where something negative happened to you.

To begin this practice, choose a time when you won’t be interrupted, and get yourself into a relaxed meditative state.  Take three, slow, big breaths, inhaling for a count of six, holding for a count of four, and exhaling for a count of six.  Then, imagine yourself at the time of your life when you wish to do the healing.  See the environment that surrounded you, and place yourself in those shoes again.

Next, imagine the scene for the area you wish to change.  Replay the events in your mind leading up to the event, but instead of allowing the scene to play out the way it did, change the outcome for the undesired event.  If it’s something you wish you had done differently, imagine yourself taking different steps.  If it’s an area where something negative happened to you, imagine those events going differently.

I like to imagine my higher self coming to the door to either guide me (if it’s something I wish I had done differently) or to stand up for me (if it’s something I wish hadn’t happened to me).  Your higher self can look however you choose he/she to look.  For meditations where an adverse event occurred as a child, I imagine my higher self to look like the adult version of myself coming in to help.  Because I don’t think time works in a linear fashion, and is more quantum in nature, I believe that in doing this, I opened the door to allow my higher self to currently step in and guide me.

Don’t be surprised if you find yourself getting very emotional while doing these meditations.  In fact, the stronger you feel the emotions of the past, the more powerful this practice will be.  Crying can be a helpful tool in releasing stuck emotions.

Our imagination is powerful. Our intention is powerful. When we put our imagination and intention together, we become unstoppable.
