What is Awakening?

Different people have different interpretations for what awakening is.  Some will have a spiritual awakening where they feel/see/hear their guidance team for the first time.  Others will see being awake as knowing how corrupt our political systems are.  Others still, will be triggered by the term “awake” and want to strangle anyone claiming to be it.

My awakening began by being awakened by spirit.  I began to have incredibly psychic dreams, which pushed me further into psychic and spiritual phenomena.  I remember reading about angel signs, particularly dimes and white feathers, and being astounded when an abundance of these token items found their way into my days, at just the right time and in the most auspicious places.  I felt the energy of my spirit team, which gave me the knowing that I was not alone.  The parts of me that felt unconfident or defensive, became replaced by knowing my team knew who I was, everything I had been through, and had my back.

Spiritual awakening will feel different for everyone.  Some will begin to see third-eye images for the first time.  These images are what you see behind closed eyes, most commonly during meditation.  These images can be shapes and colors, or they could be actual pictures that their guides use to bring them messages. 

Not all awakening experiences are pleasant.  Part of the process is being made aware of any negative energy that is holding us back.  When your third-eye is open, you may see an image of an inner attachment, particularly while struggling with an addiction.  As alarming as this will feel, it’s important to know these energies do not own us.  They can be eradicated, and seeing them is the first step. 

Looking back at my experience of first seeing an inner attachment, I wonder if I was moving through a subjective part of my consciousness.  Meaning, I created the attachment, and therefore I could uncreate it.  Although the experience was chilling, it served me in being a major reason to never pick up a drink again.

The awakening process is usually not linear.  It can be very disappointing to have felt the strong energies and third eye messages, only to find they disappear one day.  I believe this is all part of the process, and is part of our lessons in patience and faith.  Somedays I feel a very strong spiritual connection, and other days I don’t.  What has been fascinating for me is seeing that my prayers are answered, despite whatever connection I feel (or don’t).  We are never alone!

Looking at what is happening politically makes me wonder if it is time for the entire planet to awaken.  If not spiritually, at least awaken to the corruption and systems of control that have held us back for many years. 

In January 2020, I had a dream where I was standing in a skyscraper and suddenly I had the knowing that all the structures around me (including the one I was in) were going to collapse.  I remember saying to myself “I’m going to have another dark night of the soul,” at which point I woke up.  My husband recently had a very similar dream, involving structures collapsing.  I believe we are moving into a new energy where corruption and greed can no longer stand, and as a result we are going to see the collapse of many of the structures that were built to hold us back or control us.

The next few months to years may be really hard for a lot of people.  As I look at what is happening around us, I can see how terrifying it may look to a lot of people.  I thank God that I was able to have my awakening when I did, and be able to tap into other spaces of consciousness where I see the bigger picture and know it is all part of the divine plan.  The dark systems have to come up to be exposed.  We have to see the corruption for what it is.  If we don’t, we will not learn how we allowed the corruption to begin in the first place, and how we’ve continued to feed it.

I pray I can be a beacon of hope for anyone who is only seeing the fear and destruction around them.  I simply will not accept that the dark is going to win.  Why would I and many, many others have awakening experiences, only to have the dark win?  I believe that the light has already won.  The home run was already been hit, we just need to run the bases now.
